It is about this time of year that the folks who have invested in climate controlled storage really begin to appreciate their decision. This is when the temperatures begin to change and the fluctuations can be severe. Temperatures that bounce to either side of freezing cause real problems for goods that have been stored in areas that are exposed to those fluctuations. For all that we boast of our clearly superior temperatures, our security systems are pretty sweet themselves. Our computer system monitors access and our security cameras “cover all of the action” as they say on the Olympic television coverage. All of this is part and parcel to what we do. Ultimately, however, some of our best security is that someone from our organization walks the facilities basically every day. We are on site. Please come let us show you our place.

Our newest section of climate controlled storage rooms is filling in a great way, and is finding that it has its own niche in the storage room/unit business. This area caters perfectly to those people using a pickup truck with which to move. Its dock is exactly at the perfect height to walk right into and out of a pickup truck bed; pretty sweet, really. That was the one height that we were missing. Now we can help everyone find the perfect room that is most easily accessed.

1-20-2010 Finally a Thaw in Sedalia!

We have finally been granted a reprieve from the ridiculously low temperatures that have been lingering across Missouri since Christmas day, and are beginning to thaw out in the Sedalia/central Missouri area. This is much needed - mentally! It does, however, present problems if you have your valued possessions stored in ordinary outdoor facilities - expanding and contracting of goods as the temperature changes. Inside Bast Storage, however, the temperature never changed! Our clients possessions were never subjected to those dramatic changes. Although we are not naive enough as good midwesterners to think that the cold temperatures are behind us for the winter, we know that we have an answer for the storage business when those nasty temperatures do return.
