December 10, 2010
Thumbing through some light reading lately, it came to my attention that the folks in the insurance business understanding the positives behind climate controlled storage. The Insurance Information Institute recommends you “select a secure, dry facility with climate-controlled units. They should have been built with fire-resistant material. 11-26-2010 Thankful for Climate Controlled Storage
November 26, 2010
Is having climate controlled storage available to us as a resource worthy of something for which we should be thankful? I think that it is. More specifically, having it available to us at a price that is so affordable is special. Bast is able to do this because we have buildings that we have retrofitted to climate controlled storage rooms. These are high-quality spaces at 1/3 of what you would pay in Kansas City or St. Louis. Is that bragging? Clearly! Happy Holidays.
11-10-2010 Humidity … It is a Changin’ Outdoors
November 10, 2010
All of the humidity that the possessions of those people that store their goods outside soaked up all summer long is now about to be dried out in a nasty fashion. That is going to cause problems to those folks that stored wooden furniture, family pictures, clothes, etc. in traditional outside storage. Those folks that have stored with Bast Storage and its inside facilities will have no idea that the seasons have changed. Storing inside is the way to go – if you want your possessions back!
10-21-2010 Temperature is Everything in Storage
October 21, 2010
Most people in our business believe that all they have to do is keep their climate controlled facilities’ temperature below 85 degrees in the summer and above 45 degrees in the winter. They then claim that they are controlling the climate. That is bunk! Because our buildings are incredibly well insulated, we can keep the temperature consistently between 67 and 76 degrees, and we can do it in an efficient manner. That is controlling the climate. That is keeping it like you would in your own home. Expect more and ask the right questions.

9-1-2010 Humidity Change is Part of the Outside Climate
September 1, 2010
It is this time of year that the weather begins to change normal temperatures. What is even more important to those keepsakes that are stored is that the humidity begins to change as well. If your treasures have been stored outside where they are exposed to this humidity, they have likely absorbed some of this moisture. Now, as the natural moisture in the air likely begins to decrease, this change in the liquid can produce real damage to your possessions. Keep them in climate controlled storage. It changes everything by not allowing these dramatic moisture changes. At Bast Storage we only do climate controlled storage. Outside storage is for cars, boats and RV’s. Please bring the rest to us.

7-21-2010 Ingress/Egress Better at Bast Storage
July 21, 2010
Have have taken particular care in making sure that we have different levels of access to the storage areas at Bast. Some people move in/out using dock-high trucks. Some people move their possessions with pickups or similar height beds. Others still need to walk in or even use a two-wheeler at ground level. We have different levels of access to accommodate every need. We have a business customer who has product delivered by tractor/trailer so they need dock-high. They then take the product out and into a van so they need a much lower dock. No problem; we can and do handle that at Bast. Come see us.
7-8-2010 Central Missouri Humidity No Match for Bast Storage
July 8, 2010
This time of year the humidity begins to crank up in west central Missouri, and outside is no place to be some days. Inside Bast Storage the climate is considerably more stable. Storing stuff with us is like having it sit in your spare bedroom – only you do not have to step around it every time you want to get to the closet in that room! Humidity is not the friend of stored possessions this time of year. Materials that take in moisture now are prone to serious deterioration when moisture is removed and replaced during normal weather conditions in the midwest. Stay with us. It is just better.
