6-1-2009 Storage Rooms Are Nice!!

Our storage rooms are so nice that it occurred to me that they are basically like an apartment without cable. I mean, I am not suggesting that they are inhabitable – actually against the laws of the state and those of practicality; really, who lives where there is no cable! Clearly, though, they are that nice. This time of year the air conditioning runs frequently to keep the place refreshingly cool. The climate is right, but the cable TV piece is an obvious deal breaker

If you are doing climate controlled storage and doing it properly, pest/insect control is key. If you are creating a wonderful climate, insects think it feels good as well. Consequently, we have found that the provider must be prepared to fight that battle. We have it contracted to profession pest management folks who are the best. They come in monthly and absolutely take care of the property in this respect. Frankly, we should all be this diligent at our homes. Managing any of these potential problems goes toward cleanliness, and we think that we have our arms around this issue.

April showers bring ……………… more April showers, apparently. Man it rains a lot, but we will keep your stuff dry. Frankly, it is exactly this kind of weather – think moisture, not temperature – that is the complete reason for climate-controlled storage. By conditioning the air, humidity is removed. 4-3-2009 Bracket Mania and Climate Controlled Storage

One of our commercial clients needed to put brackets on the walls of his storage room so that he could stabilize the shelving he wanted to put in the unit. We looked at his idea and gave it the big “go ahead.” We are not in the business of doing things that are destructive to our properties, but we are also not in the business of being inflexible. Reasonable requests by reasonable people should be reasonable discussed! We work with our customers.

We are not of Irish heritage here at Bast Storage, but we have been known to do a mean river dance while showing our climate controlled storage rooms to perspective customers. Frankly, we have been as lucky as a bunch of Irishmen with all of the great customers we have been blessed to serve over the years. We have also been able to make ordinary storage units “green with envy” with our deluxe rooms that stay a constant temperature. Have a great St. Patrick’s day. Also, please remember, just like Bast Storage with its expert pest control, there were never any snakes in Ireland!
2-22-2009 Self-Storage for Commercial Accounts

I am truly amazed at how relevant climate-controlled self-storage is for commercial entities. When we started into this business almost nine years ago (unbelievable!!!), we believed that there would be small businesses that needed storage for records, files, etc. However, we have come to discover that it is much more than that, and because we are able to deliver climate-controlled self-storage for about the same cost as outside storage, people find that it is a no-brainer of a decision. Also, because we have the dock-high access, we really speak to businesses who are accustomed to moving their goods, equipment, etc. on commercial vehicles. Certainly, we are no third party warehouse supplier, but we are closer than you might think.
2-6-2009 Self Storage Makes Sense

There is a reason that self storage units have sprung up all over the country over the last generation, and why climate controlled self storage has become the standard of this generation: It works! Most houses are not built with enough storage. At $200/sq. ft. to build quality residential space, building space in a home specifically for storage is ridiculous in most cases. Renting self storage space for a mere fraction of the cost to build makes the cost/benefit analysis very clear.
